We'll discuss wardrobe, logistics and everything else at our planning meeting. After your little one arrives, simply email me to pick an official session date.
Once your photos are edited, you'll view them and choose a collection separately. If you added on the petite maternity session, you will make that payment after viewing the edited photos from that session.

All newborn sessions take place on weekdays only. Maternity sessions are usually on weekdays, although I occasionally have a Saturday studio opening available.

Do you travel for sessions?
Yes, I do! There is an additional $100 due at booking for in-home sessions. If you live more than 45 minutes from Fairfax, VA, there may be an additional travel fee. Please let me know and we can chat about what your travel fee would be.
Where will the session take place?
Newborn photos can either be taken at my natural light studio in Sterling, Virginia, or in your home. There is an additional $100 fee for in-home sessions. If you're unsure which option is best for you, I can help you decide! Maternity photos can take place at the studio, your home, or an outdoor location in the area.
We would love to work together - how do we book?
To reserve your newborn session on my calendar, you'll simply sign a contract and pay a non-refundable session fee. Both can easily be done online. Email me at info@emilyalyssa.com to get started. I can't wait to work with you!
I noticed you shoot film and digital. What does that mean?
I'm a hybrid photographer, which means I shoot with a mix of digital and film. By film, I mean old school, physical rolls of film I send off to a lab to have developed (not video)! I use film because it allows me to slow down as an artist and be extra intentional with every photo. It also gives you soft, creamy tones that are simply not replicated in digital photos. If you add them to your session, you'll receive your film photos as digital scans, so they will be easily integrated in your final gallery.
What is the turnaround time for editing photos?
The photos will be edited and ready to view four weeks after your session! You can expect to see at least 35 edited images. You'll view them either with me at an order meeting, or through my online ordering system, whichever you prefer.
How do we pick a date and time for the session?
Instead of picking a specific date, you'll reserve a newborn session based on your due date. Then when baby arrives, you'll simply email me to coordinate a date. I recommend taking photos 1-3 weeks after baby arrives, however, we can be flexible if needed.
